Buy Ivey Build Community 3rd Quarter Charity Initiative

We’re proud to announce the final totals for the 3rd quarter of our charity campaign, Buy Ivey, Build Community! This year-long campaign allows our homebuyers to select from three local charities where their homes’ $250 donation will be donated. It has been a wonderful way to give back to the community and involve our customers.

The third-quarter total was $15,000! The charities benefiting:

Warren Missions – Reaching Hands Adoption Ministry = $3,750

Reaching Hands ministers to Christian families in the CSRA who are pursuing domestic or international adoptions. The ministry of Reaching Hands began when several families from Warren Baptist Church came together in the hopes of making a difference for families considering adoption. The decision to adopt is an exciting display of compassion and love…but the process itself can be daunting. Reaching Hands provides information and encouragement as families navigate through the various steps in the journey. Additionally, for most families, the financial costs of adoption can be staggering. Whether a family is pursuing a domestic or an international adoption, their costs will range from around $25,000 to $50,000! Through the financial donations made to Reaching Hands Adoption Ministry, we have been able to help over 30 children from all over the world come home to their forever families. The Georgia Canter Center’s mission is to reduce the burden of cancer in the State of Georgia and across the globe through superior care, innovation and education. Fort Gordon Christmas House = $4,750

The Christmas House was established in 1966 when a group of Fort Gordon nurses hosted a teddy bear drive to ensure the children of deployed Soldiers received a Christmas gift. Since its inception, the Christmas House continued to build upon the foundation laid over 50 years ago, expanding to assist struggling lower enlisted Fort Gordon families of all branches of service. The Fort Gordon Christmas House recently became a 501(c)(3) private non-profit organization and is ran solely by military-affiliated volunteers. Relying exclusively on generous toy and monetary donations from community partners, last year the Christmas House volunteers worked tirelessly to provide 470 children with toys and games ensuring 266 families had an enjoyable Christmas. Our official tagline, “Giving Joy and New Toys to Our Military Families” provides a framework for our mission here at Fort Gordon Christmas House.
