Picking the Perfect Plan for You!

You’ve researched, weighed your options and have decided to build an Ivey Home – how exciting! So, how do you know what plan is the best fit for you and your needs? With a few questions that will help you narrow down a list of wants and needs, we can help you choose the perfect floor plan for you.

  • Two-Story or Ranch Style?

This is the main concern of many new home builders/buyers. It is important to understand which would best suit you and your family. Do you have young children? Are you or anyone in your home elderly or disabled? Will these factors come into play a few years down the road? These are important questions to consider when determining the build of your home. If you think you’d be best suited in a ranch style, take a look at the 1714 Plan or our Sinclair Community.

  • Do you entertain often?

Is your home the entertainment hub of your circle of friends and/or family? If so, you may consider choosing a plan that focuses on gathering areas. While most floor plans are designed with entertainment in mind, some are better suited than others. An open and spacious foyer, a flex room or formal dining room, a large family room are all great additions for the party host homeowner. The Ashworth VI Plan or the Glendale Plan would both be great options if entertaining is important to you!

  • Do you enjoy outdoor living?

Love basking in the sun on a pretty day? We know the feeling! While most all Ivey Homes floor plans feature a covered back patio, there are some plans that have an additional option of a screened in patio or heated sunroom which are perfect options for someone looking to enjoy some sunlight and fresh air from the comfort of their home. Two floor plan options to take a look at are The Hemingway Plan that features a covered patio and sunroom or the Stapleton Plan that offers an optional covered patio extension.

  • Lastly, do you work from home?

We know that lately, this has been a reality for many working families and some companies have announced they plan to continue the work from home model. Knowing this, it is important to have a space for you to comfortably and effectively perform your job duties. While you can convert any bedroom to a home office, some Ivey floor plans are built with “work from home” in mind. Try looking at the Ethans Mill Plan or the Essington II Plan which both feature an extra space we like to call the Home Management Center. This is a small room with extra outlets, storage, and countertop space that is perfect for making into a home office. Other plans like the Durham Hill Plan and the Stapleton Plan feature a study/office room which are great for the work from home lifestyle.

Deciding on the must haves in your dream home is the first step to choosing the perfect floor plan. We know that building your new home can be a huge undertaking which is why the team at Ivey Homes is here to help every step of the way!
