Buy Ivey, Build Community - 3rd Quarter Total

With almost a second full year in the books, The Buy Ivey, Build Community is still going strong! For the 3rd quarter, we donated over $10,000 to our charity partners.

The Buy Ivey, Build Community campaign highlights three local area charities each quarter where a donation is made with each home closed. A special part of the campaign is that new Ivey homeowners get to direct where their home’s donation funds will go. This gives Ivey a chance to support more local missions while giving local homeowners a look at important needs in the Augusta River Region.

The Buy Ivey, Build Community began in 2021 and to date has raised almost $100,000 for local charities. The campaign’s third quarter charities were The Fort Gordon Christmas House, Golden Harvest Food Bank, and Paceline.

The Fort Gordon Christmas House Received $3,000

The Christmas House was established in 1966 when a group of Fort Gordon nurses hosted a teddy bear drive to ensure the children of deployed soldiers received a Christmas gift. Since its inception, the Christmas House continued to build upon the foundation laid over 50 years ago, expanding to assist struggling lower enlisted Fort Gordon families of all branches of service. The Fort Gordon Christmas House recently became a 501(c)(3) private non-profit organization and is ran solely by military-affiliated volunteers. Relying exclusively on generous toy and monetary donations from community partners, in 2020 the Christmas House volunteers worked tirelessly to provide 470 children with toys and games ensuring 266 families had an enjoyable Christmas. Our official tagline, “Giving Joy and New Toys to Our Military Families” provides a framework for our mission here at Fort Gordon Christmas House.

Golden Harvest Food Bank Received $4,000

Golden Harvest Food Bank is working to solve hunger by nourishing our communities through healthy food and service. We supply food to a network of 175 local hunger relief agencies in our area including food pantries, soup kitchens, schools, and senior and childcare centers. We also provide direct food assistance to neighbors in need through our Mobile Market food distributions and dedicated feeding programs for seniors and children and through The Master’s Table Soup Kitchen in downtown Augusta. The Food Bank recently embarked on a new 10-year strategic roadmap to end hunger in our 25-county by gradually increasing our food distribution until the need for emergency food assistance is fully met, bridging the 8.8 million annual meal gap that exists across our communities.

Paceline Received $3,750

Paceline Ride is a movement of communities and organizations striving toward a common goal: cure cancer faster. 100% of all fundraising supports critical research and survivorship at the Georgia Cancer Center. The Georgia Cancer Center’s mission is to reduce the burden of cancer in the State of Georgia and across the globe through superior care, innovation, and education.
