Ivey Homes Involves Homebuyers in Choosing Donations for Local Charities in their “Buy Ivey, Build Community” Campaign

2022 First Quarter Proceeds to benefit ForcedUnited, The Family Y of Greater Augusta – Youth Sports & Camps, and 100 Black Men of Augusta STEM Program

After their award-winning Buy Ivey, Build Community charity campaign that raised over $63,000 for charities across the River Region, local builder-developer Ivey Homes knew the campaign needed to continue in 2022.

The program is unique as it involves Ivey’s homeowners in the giving. Ivey’s homeowners choose where their home’s donation will go and thanks to them, the first quarter donations totaled over $13,000 benefiting ForcesUnited, The Family Y of Greater Augusta – Youth Sports & Camps, and 100 Black Men of Augusta, Inc. STEM Program.

“As a company, we feel that it is important to give back and support our local community.  We felt like this would be a good way to get our homebuyers to help direct where the investment is going based on their interest.  As a rule, we have decided to give to three charities each quarter in 2022.  We are targeting one military charity because of the importance of Fort Gordon to our area, one charity that focuses on children, and one general charity supporting the needs of the Augusta area,” states, Matt Ivey, Co-Owner, Ivey Homes

Ivey Homes was honored to present ForcesUnited, The Family Y of Greater Augusta – Youth Sports & Camps, and 100 Black Men of Augusta, Inc. with donation checks in early May.

“We are thankful for our partners at Ivey Homes, “said Craig Miracle, district vice president for The Family Y. “Their donation helps ensure that all children have access to quality programming at the Y and that no one is turned away for their inability to pay.”

With the second quarter underway, Ivey Homes looks forward to another successful campaign for the charities chosen, which are Folds of Honor, RISE Augusta, and CanHope.

About 100 Black Men of Augusta, STEM Program – https://100blackmenofaugusta.org/

The mission of 100 Black Men is to improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans. The organization is built on five pillars: mentoring, economic empowerment, education, health and wellness, and leadership development. These pillars are intended to affect the lives of young men, their families, and their community long-term. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers will continue to grow by a 13% faster rate than any other industry through 2022. As STEM careers grow, research shows that across all populations, African Americans represent the lowest percentage of students earning a STEM degree. To increase the number of African American children interested in STEM, 100 BMA implemented a STEM Program to ensure that more African American children are exposed to and consider STEM careers.
